Synopsis
1941, the Second World War is underway. Having suffered a crushing defeat at Pearl Harbor, the US authorities decide to intern the Japanese population in “military displacement centers.” Several families from California end up into one of these camps – a spirit called Yurei also decided to settle here. Once an attractive girl, the ghost is obsessed with revenge – and there is a reason why she haunts these Japanese families.
Terror would be renewed for a second season to scare viewers with mystical stories once. The question arises again – which is more terrible: the supernatural or the people themselves, humiliating and crippling each other for their own survival?
Interesting Facts
- There is no plot relationship between the first and second seasons. The David Kaiganich (Season 1 showrunner) original idea was to create an anthology about the brutal Arctic. However, when David left the project, the producers decided to take a different direction for the plot of the second season.
- The new season came out with the “Infamy” subtitle, a word used in Franklin Roosevelt’s speech about the attack on Pearl Harbor.
- This story is very personal to the TV series creators. For example, George Takei, who plays Yamamoto-san, spent his childhood in a similar military center. In all, about 130 relatives of the actors and other members of the TV series team passed through these camps during World War II.
