Miss Clayton, a young girl, joins the service as a governess at the Bly Manor. Her task is to look after the master’s nephews. But soon Miss Clayton notices that everyone in this house is behaving very strangely, especially Miles and Flora, brother and sister whom the main character look after. The girl learns that before her appearance in the manor, two people died – the servant Peter Quint and the previous governess Miss Jessel. Miss Clayton suspects that they have turned into ghosts and are haunting children.

Interesting Facts

  • As “The Haunting of Hill House” TV show gained a huge success, the Netflix bosses decided to turn it into an almanac and shoot a second season about Bly Manor. However, new episodes came out in the form of a new television series under the “The Haunting of Bly Manor” title. Although the same crew and cast (partially) of the original show are working on the new TV show, “The Haunting of Bly Manor” is not directly related to “The Haunting of Hill House”.
  • The television series is based on “The Turn of the Screw” novel by Henry James, published back in 1898. Having at least fifteen film adaptations, this book also became the basis for the 1954`s opera. In early 2020, The Turning movie with Mackenzie Davis premiered, which was also based on “The Turn of the Screw”.
  • The first season of the TV series will premiere on October 9, 2020 on the Netflix streaming platform with all episodes available for viewing.
  • The Haunting of Hill House TV series contains many Easter eggs. An attentive viewer will be able to see about a dozen hiding ghosts in various scenes.
