Synopsis

Diana Bishop, historian and witch, met Matthew Claremont, biochemist and vampire, in Oxford. As a result, the main characters fell in strong – and forbidden – love with each other.

Discouraged by witches or vampires (and also demons), their relationship has caused havoc in a magical world that is so close to ordinary one. The Ashmole 782 manuscript found by Diana in the Oxford library is able to shed light on the origins of witches, thereby breaking the fragile truce between the two magical peoples.

Fleeing pursuit, Diana and Matthew travel back in time in the final episodes of the Season 1. While in the 16th century, they continue to study the text of the mysterious manuscript.
