Synopsis

The Terror TV series is an adaptation of the international bestseller of the same name by Dan Simmons, which tells the true story of an Arctic expedition. In 1845, two British Crown ships sailed into the Arctic and disappeared into its ice. Until now, it is not known exactly what caused the death of sailors.

The Simons’ novel and the series based on it alike, there are some elements of mysticism. The sailors encountered a bloodthirsty creature that protects the icy deserts. However, the main idea of the story is to show how terrible a person can be in their desperate desire to survive at any cost.

Having nothing to do with terrorism as such, the series got its name from one of the ships that participated in the Arctic expedition.
Jared Harris, an outstanding British actor, is best known for his roles in popular television series. In addition to Terror, he played in the fantasy TV series “Carnival Row”, the science fiction series “Expanse”, and in “Chernobyl”, which became an international hit. He also made the starring cast of the comic “Morbius” and the blockbuster serial “Foundation” based on the works of Isaac Asimov – these TV shows will be premiered next year.
A year and a half before the premiere of the TV series, the remains of the ship Terror were found by researchers. Lying for about 170 years on the seabed, the ship turned out to be 100 km south of the place where the members of the expedition left it. Today, the wreckage of these ships is a national historical heritage of Canada.
