Synopsis

Unexpected by many, the new season of Manhunt reveals two parallel stories – about the terrorist Eric Rudolph, who set off the bombing during the Olympic Games in Atlanta, and the security guard Richard Jewell, suspect in this crime for a long time.

Interesting Facts

  • Although the first season of Manhunt was shown on the Discovery Channel, the second one was filmed for the Spectrum. Despite the move to a new platform and increased timing, the second season turned out to be just as unclaimed for the audience.
  • Two months before the premiere of the second season of Manhunt, Clint Eastwood’s “Richard Jewell” was released. Although it shows the same story, the plot of Eastwood’s movie focuses more on the story of a security guard who was suspected of committing a terrorist attack. The film was received warmly by critics, and Katie Bates, who played the mother of Richard Jewell, was nominated for an Academy Award.
  • Cameron Britton, who plays Richard Jewell, is also best known for his most recent role as ruthless agent Hazel in “Umbrella Academy”, as well as Ed Kemper in “Mindhunter”, and was nominated for a TV Emmy Award.
