Synopsis

The Good Lord Bird TV series tells a story that took place in hot Kansas a century and a half ago. John Brown, a local abolitionist, did his best to fight slavery. Brown is a historical figure whose actions were one of the prerequisites for the outbreak of the American Civil War. Unlike many of his associates, John Brown believed that the use of force to free slaves was entirely justified. Years later, the figure of John became legendary and foundational to American civilization. The television series will tell about the difficult fate of John Brown and the black-skinned guy who joined him.

  • Ethan Hawke played the main character of the television series. In addition, he is also the show’s scriptwriter and executive producer. Having been nominated four times for an Academy Award, Hawke has never hit the coveted statuette. With his new series on a hot topic, he may well count on a Golden Globe and an Emmy awards.
  • The series premiered on October 4, 2020, on Showtime. They will air one episode each week until November 22.
  • Filming for the series began in July 2019 in Virginia. This month was the hottest in the state on record.
